NaPoWriMo 2011 Poem & Prompt for April 14, 2011 14/30

April 14, 2011

It’s the 14th day of NaPoWriMo. . . where’s the confetti?

Are you creating something new and from scratch each day before you go to bed or each morning when you first wake up?   Do you feel how powerful having this relationship with Art can be?

Today’s prompt should be write (right) up your alley.

A poem based on a picture or work of art is called an ekphrasis. Today write a three stanza ekphrasis based on a work of art in any form you’d like.

(Use this prompt either for today or tomorrow).

(That’s both a subject –work of art; defined as such by you; and ekphrasis  3 stanza  poem.

Dear Bottleman,

Why do you throw yourself away?

Who drank you into existence?

Left you to make music

in the wind?

Are you more sober

than your creator?

Do you yearn for

Dear Bottleman?

Dear Bottleman,

who did you disturb

that all your empty bottles

are corked?
