Love Poems of February #14 of 14

February 28, 2013

Here’s the 14th and final Love Poem for the Love Poems of February 2013.

Call it NaLoPoMo National Love Poem Month.

Prompt for today: Revise an older poem you’ve written in the past that might not have even been about love. Enjoy.

Several poets challenged themselves to write some poetry every day, every other day or once a week this February. Always a good thing to push yourself to write more than you usually would and share your writing with others–no matter how imperfect the writing might be. Even if you haven’t been participating regularly…write a poem and share it with others.. Post a link to your love poems here at this Facebook page: Randomly Accessed Poetics which is a William James Lindberg project.

Deep Breathing exercise
By Christopher J. Jarmick

Winds shift directions
without warning
brings air from different borders,
clears out smoke and ash.
And in the clear,
breathe deep,
breathe deep.

Sun breaks through clouds,
evaporates morning dew.
Shines golden light without prejudice,
warms the world.
And in the warmth
breathe deep,
breathe deep.

Night expands the universe,
stars show themselves
twinkle and wink from the heavens,
a show worth remembering,
breathe deep
breathe deep.

Love is real
in compassion, empathy,
faith and
human touch
breathe deep
breathe deep
