NaPoWriMo Day 13 for April 13, 2016

April 12, 2016

“If you can quit, then quit.

 If you can’t quit,

you’re a writer.”

― R.A. Salvatore

DAY 13  – NaPoWriMo Prompt for  April 13, 2016

Welcome to Day 13 of the NaPoWriMo challenge.  Use these prompts to inspire you to write a poem each and every day of April.

Find one or two of your favorite quotes and write a poem that incorporates the ideas of that quote in a poem in some way.  A poetic riff on the quote also works.  Do share the quote as well.  Don’t use any part of the quote in the poem.

For those living anywhere near Western Washington you might want to look at the new Poetry Day of the Week page that you’ll find in the upper right corner under PAGES.   A couple of times this month you may also find my Poetry Northwest announcements in between the NaPoWriMo posts.

If you post the poems on your blog or anywhere using this prompt… send me a link.

Enjoy!

DAY 1 PROMPT AND POETRY NORTHWEST READINGS EVENTS ETC. IS HERE:

My Day 11 Prompt Poem  (substitute colors for nouns or verbs)

Afternoon at the Mall

By Christopher J. Jarmick

Chihuly still guards the escalators

Tully’s is now a Frost by the Container Store

No fake snow bubbles or Christmas carolers

Sky bridges, empty piano, Asian cuisine

Kahn at the Art museum triggering memories

Someone new holds my hand

I let go of the past more every day

Laughing, writing, connecting- time for a movie.

Afternoon at the Goldenrodl

By Christopher J. Jarmick

Chihuly still guards the maroons

Aqua-marine is now a Frost by the Container Store

No fake orchid bubbles or Christmas carolers

Sky bridges, empty plum, Asian cuisine

Kahn at the Art Lavender triggering memories

Someone new violets my hand

I let sea green of the past more every day

Laughing, writing, connecting- time for a movie.
