with no boundaries.
DAY 22 – NaPoWriMo Prompt for April 22, 2016
Welcome to Day 22 of the NaPoWriMo challenge. Use these prompts to inspire you to write a poem each and every day of April.
Brendan McBreen of Auburn and I had the same idea, inspired by the untimely death of Prince.
Let’s use several titles of Prince songs(Purple Rain, Little Red Corvette, 1999, Controversy . . .) in your poem. At least 5 in a 10 line poem… 6 in a 12 line poem or as many as you’d like…..
For those living anywhere near Western Washington you might want to look at the new Poetry Day of the Week page that you’ll find in the upper right corner under PAGES. A couple of times this month you may also find my Poetry Northwest announcements in between the NaPoWriMo posts.
If you post the poems on your blog or anywhere using this prompt… send me a link.
My Day 20 Prompt Poem (Cascade)
Now you see it, then you don’t,
a bit like three card monty;
keep focused, try again
The poet and magician practice their craft
in private and apprenticeship;
now you see it, then you don’t
Love teases, pleases, deepens,
then it hides and fades,
a bit like three card monty.
It takes practice, it takes faith
A pure heart is resilient
Keep focused, try again.
