Bios

Dick Brugger
was executive director of Auburn Youth
Resources for twenty-one years prior
to his retirement in 1997. In 1983 he
was named Auburn Area Citizen of the
Year. For another twenty-one years
before coming to Auburn, Brugger was
a Franciscan Friar and Roman Catholic
priest. His poetry has appeared n the
Plateau Area Writers Association
Quarterly, the Doylestown (Pennsylvania
) Intelligencer and PoetsWest Literary
Journal. His Prose has appeared n
Heart of the Matter and nine PAWA
Anthologies, he was a 2nd place
performance poet winner at the
Washington Poets Association
annual meeting in the Spring of 2003
in Tacoma, Washington, Brugger’s
poetry has been in animated in a Father
and Daughter productions with his
daughter, Artist Jessie Brugger. In
January, 2012 Brugger was named the
first Poet Laureate of the City of
Auburn, Washington.

David Thornbrugh
is a West Coast poet who has been
bouncing around the world
for six decades now (including Japan,
South Korea and Poland.
He writes poetry that reflects a somewhat
whimsical and occasionally caustic
view of the world, and hopes he is
wrong about the giant salamander
coming from deep space to devour us.
He has lots of publishing credits
but is too busy to bother looking them.
